PlaylistBuilder Privacy Policy

PlaylistBuilder is a product of LearnerShape Ltd, a UK company with registered address at 210 Upper Richmond Road, Unit 102, London SW15 6NP. We respect the privacy of your personal information. This Privacy Policy (‘Policy’) explains how we collect and use personal information from users of the PlaylistBuilder service.

What personal information we collect and how we collect it

• Email Address / Google Token. When you sign in with Google to our PlaylistBuilder application, we collect your email address and a unique token that allows us to access your YouTube account. Google also automatically provides us with the user name and icon associated with your account, but we do not process or store these. We do not access or collect any of your other data from YouTube. PlaylistBuilder accesses YouTube data using YouTube API Services.
• Service Usage. We collect information on your usage of the PlaylistBuilder service.

What we do with personal information

We process your personal data for reasons associated with our legitimate interests, and in some cases with your consent or to comply with law.

• Account Management. We use your email address to create an account for you on PlaylistBuilder, and we use the YouTube access token provided by Google to write video playlists to your YouTube account.
• Service Information. We also use your email address to contact you about our services. We provide you the opportunity to opt-out of messages that are not necessary for providing the PlaylistBuilder service to you.
• Service Usage. We use information on your usage of the PlaylistBuilder service to provide the service to you. We may also anonymise service usage information and combine it with other data in a manner that does not permit individuals to be identified from the data, and use the combined, anonymised data to improve our services.

How we share personal information

Except as described below, we do not share your personal information with anyone.

• IT infrastructure. Our IT infrastructure operates primarily on Google Cloud. Google Cloud processes your personal data only as instructed by us, in accordance with this Policy. See the Google Privacy Policy for more information. We do not use any third party AI platforms: our AI functions are delivered by internally-developed software.
• Contact details. We use Zoho Campaigns to send emails to our mailing list. Zoho Campaigns processes your email address only to send you emails on our instructions, and does not share it. See the Zoho UK Privacy Policy for more information.
• Compliance with law. We may share personal information where required to comply with law. We have never done this, but want you to know that it could happen.

How long we keep personal information

We keep personal information for as long as is necessary for the business purposes set out in this Policy. Some historical information may be retained in secure archival storage (e.g. email archives).

Information security and storage

We use best practice technical and organisational methods to ensure information security. This includes storing personal data primarily in secure databases with strict access permissions, and access only by persons with a need for access.

Cookies

The PlaylistBuilder website uses cookies only as necessary to allow users to (a) use our services and (b) receive the services of our service providers (including Google Cloud and Google Analytics). Google Analytics allows us only to monitor usage of our websites and does not provide us with personal data; however, if you wish to disable Google Analytics in your browser you may install a plug-in available from Google. We do not use cookies for tracking, advertising or marketing purposes.

Rights regarding personal information

You have the following rights regarding your personal information:

• Access to and correction of information, and data portability. You can request to receive a copy of the personal data we hold about you (subject to certain limitations – e.g. where the data also relates to other individuals) and/or to correct any errors in it.
• Deletion and restriction of processing of information. We will erase or restrict processing of your data upon request (not including any data we need to keep or process for administrative, legal, or security purposes). If you wish to restrict access to YouTube data that we access for the PlaylistBuilder service, you may revoke our YouTube API access to your data via the Google security settings page.
• Withdrawal of consent. Where you have consented to us processing your information, you may withdraw consent at any time.

Changes to this Policy

From time to time, we may revise this Policy to reflect changes in our services, changes in the law, or for other reasons.
